The Book Publishers Association of Alberta (BPAA) is a provincial association of book publishing companies and is one of the strongest communities of regional publishers in North America. The BPAA was founded in 1975 to support the development of strong publishing houses, away from Canada's traditional centres of publishing. Today the BPAA has more than 35 members, all of which are owned and operated in the province of Alberta.

We are a regional affiliate of the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP).

The BPAA responds to all questions from its members, the public, media and industry, on matters to do with publishing.

BOOKMARK

Starting Sunday, February 3 at 12:30 pm, Alberta's own CKUA Radio Network will begin airing BOOKMARK, a weekly show devoted to all things Alberta books.

Host Ken Davis will bring listeners up-to-date with author interviews, book reviews, and feature length stories on the past, present and future of Alberta books.

You may listen to the show through a live stream through the station's website, or the old-fashioned way, on the radio (94.9 FM throughout Alberta).

Davis has covered a huge cross-section of Alberta books so far this season, with interviews with Sheri-D WIlson, David Finch, Jalal Barzanji, Ted Ferguson and Rob McLennan, among many others, as well as two two-part series on mountain man Sid Marty, and the granddad of all Alberta authors, W.O. Mitchell.

Ken has also started a blog for the show: http://bookmarkckua.blogspot.com/
