Alberta Book Publishing Achievement Award

This award is presented in recognition of long-standing contributions made to book publishing in Alberta. It honours an Alberta book publisher who has shown outstanding merit in all areas of activity and who best exemplifies the spirit of the Alberta book publishing community. The current Executive of the BPAA will adjudicate the award.

Eligibility

    Entries will be judged on contributions made to Alberta book publishing: the overall quality of books published, the longevity and impact of activity, and participation in the Alberta book publishing community.


Nominations

  1. Nominations must include a written proposal describing the contributions made by the nominee.
  2. Nominations may come from anyone—the BPAA Executive, BPAA members, other publishers, authors, editors, etc.
  3. Nominations shall consist of the completed entry form, the supporting documents (written proposal), and a cheque or money order for an administration fee of $25.

Note: It is to your benefit to provide as much detail as possible in your written proposal. Please support statements with documentation.

Nomination Deadline

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, January 26, 2010.

2007 was the inaugural year for this award. It was presented to Ted Giles of Detselig Enterprises (Calgary) on behalf of his years of service to his Alberta publishing colleagues and the BPAA.
