	a) Full Member The following are the requirements for full membership: Chief office of business in Alberta At least 80% beneficially owned by Canadian citizens or landed immigrants, or fully owned and controlled by Canadian institutions or associations which in turn are at least 80% controlled by Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. 51% beneficially owned by people domiciled in Alberta, and with effective managerial, editorial and financial control by people domiciled in Alberta. Publishes original Canadian books as primary and not occasional activity. • In operation for at least two years from the date of publication of first title. Has at least four original Canadian titles in print, and has a publishing programme which produces at least one new title per year. No more than 25% of titles in print have been written by principals, directors or employees of the applicant. (Please note: Publishers with more than 25% of their titles authored by principals or directors of the company may be eligible for membership so long as they can demonstrate that they are a bona fide book publisher.) Is a member of the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP), or agrees to make application to the ACP for active or associate membership. Voting rights at all Alberta Publishers membership meetings. Annual Membership fee: $750. b) Associate Member The following are the requirements for associate membership: Chief office of business in Alberta. At least 80% beneficially owned by Canadian citizens or landed immigrants, or fully owned and controlled by Canadian institutions or associations which in turn are at least 80% controlled by Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. Have effective managerial and editorial control by people domiciled in Alberta, and financial control in the hands of people living in Canada. Book publishing an important but not necessarily primary function. Has published at least two Canadian titles within the previous three years. More than 25% of books have been authored by principals, directors or employees of the firm. May attend membership meetings, but cannot vote. Annual membership fee: $500 c) Supporting Member The following are the requirements for supporting membership: Any individual, firm, partnership, individual proprietorship or institution which supports the objectives of Alberta book publishers. May attend membership meetings, but cannot vote. Receive member mailings, listed in membership directory but not part of the BPAA's display programme. Annual membership fee: $250
